The Security Industry Authority (SIA) set the guidelines and standards intended for official CCTV training in the UK.

The Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations (Public Space Surveillance) (QCF) has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provide student with all the necessary and prescribed theoretical knowledge and practical skills to take to apply for permission.

This course is a legal requirement to obtain the SIA CCTV Licence which enables you to work as a CCTV operator.

CCTV Operators usually work in a control room which is connected to a wide array of camera footage. Employers typically include security companies, medium-large corporations, local councils.

The Course is approved by the different Awarding Bodies and allows graduates to apply for the SIA license from Security Industry Authority.
In other words: this course provide the CCTV qualification required for a CCTV licence in the UK.

QUALIFICATION:

CCTV Operative L2

THE COURSE OBJECTIVES THE FOLLOWING:

Provide the learner with knowledge and skills to operate CCTV equipment and carry out surveillance techniques
Develop the learner's knowledge of health and safety in the workplace including awareness of emergency procedures
Provide the learner with knowledge of legislation, codes of practice, operational procedures and guidelines applicable to the use of CCTV for public space surveillance
Enable the learner to implement effective methods of communication in a control room environment
Ensure that the learner understands how CCTV imagery may be presented as evidence Candidates can complete the qualification in five days.

INSTRUCTOR TEAM

The SIA CCTV Operations course is run by our specialist team of internationally recognized and highly experienced trainers, who are highly qualified ex-soldiers, police officers and law enforcement agents, who throughout the years obtained much knowledge and personal experiences in the different special areas of the Security.

SKILL PREREQUSITS

None. A candidate does not have to possess prior experience in CCTV Operation.

METHODS

This course will be taught using theoretical and practical exercises. The lectures lectures will be conducted in the classroom.

VENUE:

The course will be given in PSA HQ Training Center or in case of an appropriate number of applicants, it will be held in regional training centers by the official PSA Instructors.

ASSESSMENT:

This qualification is assessed by the following means:

Multiple choice questions
Externally set, internally marked and externally quality assured practical task.
Physical Intervention Assessment

Multiple choice questions are used to assess the learners underpinning knowledge.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years of age and should have a fluent understanding of the English language.
Clean criminal record.

COURSE DURATION

3 DAYS

CANDIDATE:

In order to maintain quality of instruction and ensure that candidates receive personal attention, our course intake is restricted to 10-12 students per program.

Minimum participants for any course: 8 students per program.

Due to the popularity of our seminars we recommend that students wishing to attend a course reserve a place as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
